Bliss
Garden State is a very nice film; I just finished watching it with my sister — it’s the first film we’ve watched uninterrupted for ages. The key song was Frou Frou‘s “Let Go”. Frou Frou was a producer of some of my favourite music, although they produced very little of it (only one album). Having my subwoofer in contact with my bed is excellent. Also on the topic of sound, my family got a webcam (which works out of the box on linux, and bluescreens windows), and some headphones — the latter of which sound remarkably nice for things which only cost £10, so I intend to get some for myself.
I didn’t get much for wrapped presents; a compass (which has been a whim of mine for a while now), some chocolates, and a hat. With regards to non-wrapped presents, I finally got round to ordering a portable(-ish) hard drive, and had the random idea of checking ebay to see if anyone happened to be selling ever17 (which had a short print run in America, and I’ve never seen in the UK). It turns out that there was someone selling a copy, which I have ordered and will be expecting in a couple of weeks~
My cat’s scratching post is just the right height to rest an LCD monitor on, so I can read it clearly from bed. Chocolate milk is lovely too~
And Kitty and I thought about eachother at the same moment, to exchange hugs and christmas greetings ^___^

Tea Party: \o/
- Tea: \o/
- Hugs: \o/
- Badger: \o/
Lots of other fun things were there, but threes are more dramatic…
After tea, some of us went to see Dan Blood, who was also excellent; the band he was supporting were acceptable, although too loud (and I found another person who understands what I’m referring to \o/)

An assortment of pimpage
Dreamhost prefers moral integrity to free customers. Also, their wordpress anti-spam mod seems to work, as I’ve had one spam comment since signing up, compared to 3-4 per day on my vanilla install.
Al|together 2006 is open for entrants.
Radio Wazee seems to have implemented my vision of a radio station powered by free uploads (aka. publicity) for artists and free downloads for listeners. (Or particular note; Reasonable Doubt and Krim)
Autopackage works nicely for things not included in ubuntu’s main repositories~

Wavemage & Tastes
I found Wavemage, via him doing the music for blender’s “Orange” project. Look down his music page and note how many genres there are, consider that his music is only representetive of two of the spectrums I like ([orchestral / ambient / celtic / trip-hop] and [rock / grunge / heavy electronic]), and it becomes apparent how hard it is for me to answer “what music do you like?” :(

Mmmm… first gig -_-
I pretty much accidentally went to see the mad capsule markets yesterday when my sister’s friend got ill; too much noise and not enough music for my tastes, but it was fun anyway. I got home at ~2am after several hours of jumping round, knackered to the point where I would for once be appreciative of an early night, but nay. Now in school, so tired -_-
McQueen were supporting; they weren’t as good an act (I’d guess it was just the audience not getting into it as much) but I liked the music more ^_^
