Fscking Modem

Just as I was getting a load of traffic looking for E17 transparency, my router decides to reset to factory defaults, and I have a half hour of downtime reconfigging everything — the longest downtime since the server got wiped & reinstalled -_-

And then it does it again while I’m sleeping, 3 hours this time >:(

Digg (updated)

Run by one of the TWiT related people; digg is slightly like slashdot, but the users get to rate the stories.

ED> Although after looking around for a couple of weeks, it seems just as full of The Stupid(tm) as most places; there’s a lot more intersting things than on slashdot, but also a lot more stories like “I always wondered what [sic] meant, so I looked it up” (that’s the entire story). And then other illiterates reply with thanks for the link and vote the story to the front page :(

Wavemage & Tastes

I found Wavemage, via him doing the music for blender’s “Orange” project. Look down his music page and note how many genres there are, consider that his music is only representetive of two of the spectrums I like ([orchestral / ambient / celtic / trip-hop] and [rock / grunge / heavy electronic]), and it becomes apparent how hard it is for me to answer “what music do you like?” :(

Kuri finally updated.. a bit

libSDL_shish is dead, now integrated in the only real project to use it. The compile now also uses SDL_image, as that’s easier than keeping my own image loader functions up to date.

No major gameplay changes, but still, downloads on the kuri page.

ArekorePopup

Styled tooltips – not only very pretty, but also a reason to start using title / alt attributes, which makes things nicer for the text based browsers as well ^_^

Nagios

Third time lucky; after once barely getting an installation and once installing text mode only to get an infinite loop of database errors, Nagios works \o/ (login guest:guest)

I have it checking up on my services, so I get emailed eg when the IRC stats pages haven’t had their hourly update, or when various network services go offline.

Sites~

Websites I’ve been doing are now in their own section and linked, latest first:

* Prograde is my A-Level coursework; a system for allowing schoolwork to be marked, with the additional feature of peer review.

* Anime Connect was a redo of this; I wanted the site done properly, so I did it myself (They haven’t used it yet though, and I can’t be arsed to push it :/).

* TRM is for Travelrisk Management Ltd, my first paid-for site ^_^

* Ebonite was for Young Enterprise (now finished)
