The Last Days of FoxHound manages to stick to most of the MGS canon, make fun of it, and be more scientifically accurate

And more organisation, like an about page, and some ruler tags in the menus.

I figured it’d be an interesting way to teach myself data indexing and parser optimisation; it was. Now I can search 160MB of logs neigh-on instantly ^_^ Technical details / numbers / code on the ii page~

Also, a PNG splitter; originally intended to chop a mock-up screenshot into actual usable pixmaps and generate theme files for a variety of apps; now it just does the chopping. Again it gets a page.

Playing with google sitemaps, I found some interesting things:

* My avatar hosting is popularity 1.0

* Wallpapers are 0.05

* All my other pages are 0.0002 something

Also I realised that with /pics being one of the most popular bits of the site, it deserved a place in the main rather than /misc. Numerous other small changes have been made, but mod_rewrite should take care of redirecting everyone to where they want to go.

Some russian dude brute forced a non-admin account on my server, then didn’t manage to do any damage as it’s fully patched and firewalled off in both directions~ Everything’s been reinstalled for paranoia anyway, which took about an hour to get re-set-up, using Debian’s latest stable (finally released \o/)

Trying SELinux, I gave up after 10 hours — the packages, where existant, seem both unfinished and several years out of date, and after installing manually it didn’t seem to do anything…
